This I’ve Learned

I WAS THINKING…
how I would drive for blocks through a neighborhood and never see one person. I often said to myself, “Where is everyone?”. But since the ‘stay-at-home’ order, I now see many people walking. One of my favorite sayings is ‘there’s good in everything’. As terrible as the pandemic, perhaps this could be one of those good things.

DID YOU SEE THIS HELPFUL HINT BY HELOISE?
Dear Readers: Have you ever walked in a room and completely forgotten why you went in there in the first place? This is common, and it even has a name: an event boundary.
This phenomenon is caused not by having a bad memory, but by our brains “resetting.” Once we walk into a new space, our brains “reboot” to prepare to take in the new information in the area.
(Now, this is good news! Although I have no idea if this is correct information, I’m going to take it and run with it. All this time I thought I was getting Alzheimer’s.)

ON THE LIGHTER SIDE
Have you ever wondered?
If ignorance is bliss, why aren’t more people happy?
What happens if you get scared half to death?
If quitters never win and winners never quit, why do they say, “Quit while you’re ahead”?
If a bus station is where a bus stops and a train station is where a train stops why do companies give employees work stations?

KEEP FOOD FRESH
Taken from Mary Ellen’s Best Helpful Hints
Place crushed tissue paper on bottom on the cookie jar.
Store cottage cheese upside down in carton. It will keep longer.
Crackers can be kept crisp in humid weather by storing in the refrigerator. Be sure they are wrapped securely.
If honey has sugared, simple place the jar in a boiling pot of water.

PUNCH LINES
If you name a puppy Ben and find out it’s female. Call it Ben-Her.
Today’s cost of operating a shopping cart is about $50.00 per aisle.
