This is I’ve Learned

Blog July 26, 202

I was thinking…
how I loved being outdoors when I was growing up in Illinois. I didn’t like staying inside when it rained. Little did I know when I would say, “Rain, rain go away, come again another day”, that I would someday be living in California and praying for rain. The once beautiful green hills are now fire threating brown. But keeping with my favorite saying, “There’s good in everything”, I know when the rains come and the hills are once again a blanket of green, they will be appreciated, for sure by me.

YOU KNOW YOU’RE GETTING OLD WHEN …
Your childhood punishments are now your goals.
(Going to bed early, not leaving the house and not going to a party)
You enjoy movies you’ve watched before because you don’t remember the ending.

ON THE LIGHTER SIDE
Getting Old Makes Us Rich

Silver in the hair
    Gold in the teeth
    Crystals in the kidney
    Sugar in the blood
    Lead in the butt
    Iron in the arteries
   Supply of natural gas

BLOW OUT BIRTHDAY CANDLES???
(Taken from Haley’s Hints)
If you are wondering if one should blow-out the birthday candles on a cake during the pandemic.  A nice idea is to give a cupcake with a candle to each guest.  Everyone gets to blow out a candle and not worry about germs.
A fun idea when sending a birthday invitation. (Especially for a child) Write the message on an inflated balloon, then deflate and send. They will need to blow the balloon up to read the invitation.

PUNCH LINES

Never eat at a delicatessen where the raisins in the bread move.
It may be cheaper to just mail your money to a casino in Las Vegas then to go there.
