I WAS THINKING… about Memorial Day. It’s a special time for me to be proud of my three brothers who served in the army. I remember how our family worried and missed them until they were home safe and sound. I feel proud when I see flags on many homes to honor those who gave their life. God Bless America!
DIFFERENCES BETWEEN MEMORIAL DAY AND VETERANS DAY
(Taken from Old Farmer’s Almanac)
Memorial Day is to memorialize the veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
Veterans Day is to thank and honor ALL who served in the United States Armed Forces—in wartime or peacetime—regardless of whether they died or survived.
ON THE LIGHTER SIDE
Tracy asked her grandmother what it was like to be old. Her grandmother told her to put cotton in her ears, pebbles in her shoes, wear rubber gloves and put Vaseline on her glasses and she would have instant old age.
HOME REMEDIES USING CUCUMBERS
(Taken from Old Farmer’s Almanac Home Remedies)
Rub a slice of cucumber on stainless steel sinks to make them shine.
If the bathroom mirror fogs up, rub a cucumber slice along the mirror.
Keep grubs and slugs from garden. Place cucumber in aluminum tin amidst plants.
Use cut cucumber to polish shoes for a quick shine that repels water.
For a squeaky door rub a cucumber slice along the hinge.

THIS I’VE LEARNED
It’s only natural that we feel perturbed when we let a waiting driver “go ahead” and they show no appreciation. It’s best not to judge because we don’t know their situation. The important thing is that we did a good deed and that’s what matters. Think about it!
