This I’ve Learned

I WAS THINKING…
about the kids I watched on the playground. It brought back memories of what we played when I was that age. I didn’t see hula hoops, marbles or any one huddled together throwing jacks. And what happened to the days of RED ROVER-RED ROVER?

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
When you were born, you cried and the world rejoiced. Live your life in such a manner that when you die, the world cries and you rejoice.
The difference between the young and the old is that the young don’t know what to do, while the old can’t do what they know.
Live to die young at a ripe old age.

FASCINATING FACTS ABOUT INSECTS
(Taken from the book of Fascinating Facts)
A grasshopper can leap over obstacles 500 times its own height.
An ant can lift 50 times his own weight.
Butterflies taste with their hind feet.
Only female mosquitoes bite.
Mosquitoes are attracted to the color blue.
Bees have five eyes. There are three small eyes on the top of the bee’s head and two larger ones in front.

THE VALUE OF MAKING LISTS
Lists enable you to consider items carefully and give them proper priorities.
You will have more peace of mind because you don’t need to rely on your memory or worry about forgetting.
It’s a good feeling to cross items off a list once they’ve been accomplished.

THIS I’VE LEARNED
Too often we can’t resist the urge to gossip, even though we know it’s not a good thing. It can be hurtful to someone’s reputation. Perhaps if we make a sincere conscience effort to refrain from gossiping, we can resist the urge to participate in gossip.
