This I’ve Learned

I WAS THINKING…
how good deeds are sometimes never forgotten. Just the other day, someone thanked me again for something I did 35 years ago. I was amazed. Then I wondered if I could remember good deeds done for me in my past. Sure enough, I thought of several from my childhood and actually though-out my life.  Now I know that doing good deeds not only earn brownie points for heaven, but can have a lasting impression with someone…all their life.

YOU KNOW YOU’RE GETTING OLD WHEN…
your address book has more crossed off names.
you start getting brochures from mausoleums and cemeteries.
your recliner and a heating pad are your idea of a hot date.

ON THE LIGHTER SIDE
(OVERHEARD)
“I really think tossing and turning at night should count as exercise.”
“At my funeral take the bouquet off my casket and throw it into the audience to see who will be next.”
“I can handle pain, until it starts to hurt.”
“I thought my dryer made my clothes shrink, turns out it was the refrigerator.”

KEEP A HAPPY FACE
Mirrors don’t lie, so take off your glasses when you look in the mirror.
Don’t take shortcuts (unless from a barber or hair dresser).

LET’S TALK ABOUT POTATOES
(Taken from Reader’s Digest Hints)
Delicious mashed potatoes: bake, peel and mash with hot light cream & butter.
Bake a potato in half the time by boiling it for 5 minutes before putting in oven.
Potatoes boiled or baked whole in their skins retain nearly all their vitamins and minerals, halving or peeling causes nutrient loss.

PUNCH LINES
The best days for getting a tan are sun-days.
Having babies cost hundreds of dollars, but look how long they last.
