This I’ve Learned

I WAS THINKING…
about the oversized woman I saw wearing short shorts and a halter on a hot day. My first reaction was…well, negative. Then I thought, Good for her.  She must be pretty confident not to worry what others would think, but to be comfortable.
Maybe I’ll start wearing my sleeveless tops.

ON THE LIGHTER SIDE
John was just standing in his yard. His neighbor came over to ask if he was okay.  “Oh, I’m fine he said. “My wife is practicing her singing and I wanted the neighbors to see me so they won’t think I was beating her.”
A sign on the highway: Who hates speeding tickets? Raise your right foot.
Fun Fact: Women spend more time wondering what men are thinking than men actually spend time thinking.

DECORATE LIKE A PRO
(Taken from Easy Does It)
Choose neutral colors for sofas, chairs, etc. Enjoy bright colors or bold prints in accessories, like pillows or tablecloths. When you get tired of designs, you can replace cheaper than furniture.
Set can of enamel paint in hot water before use. It will spread more smoothly when warm.
Aluminum foil can be used to cover door knobs and thermostats when painting. It’s flexible and stays in place until ready to remove.
To soften hardened paint on brushes, soak in hot vinegar. Then wash in warm soapy water.
Cooking oil, baby oil, shaving or shampoo will soften and removed paint from your hands and face more pleasantly than harsh turpentine and mineral spirits.

THIS I’VE LEARNED
We’ve heard many times it’s best to live in the moment. That’s great advise, but it’s not always easy. I recently read to focus on our senses. If we pay attention to what we see, hear, smell, tase and touch that may help us engage in the moment. Think about it!
