This I’ve Learned

I WAS THINKING…
how it happened again. I was invited to something and then I got another invitation to something else for the same date and time. I really wanted to go to both, but I had to choose. I didn’t like doing that. I’d like to think it was because I’m popular, but I know how many other invitations I get. So, I don’t think so.

MEMORY MADNESS
One can remember anything when they get old, whether it happened or not.
If you think someone doesn’t have a good memory, try repeating a joke you told them a month ago.
The best thing about the “good old days’ is a poor memory.
If you think you don’t’ have a good memory, try to forget something.

OVERHEARD
The happiest people are those who discover that what they should be doing and what they are doing are the same thing.

VINEGAR IN THE LAUNDRY ROOM
(Taken from the Vinegar Anniversary Book)
Vinegar is great for many stains, but first let’s start with what it should not be used on. Vinegar used on blood stains can set it and make it impossible to get out. Also don’t use it on vomit, eggs, butter, milk or grease.
¼ cup vinegar added to laundry, along with the usual soap, will brighten colors and make whites sparkle. It will also act as a fabric softener and inhibit mold and fungus growth. It also helps kill athlete’s foot germs on socks. White vinegar is a traditional remedy for removing perspiration stains. Sturdy fabrics can be treated full strength vinegar, rubbed in just before putting in the washer. Delicate fabrics should be soaked in vinegar diluted half with water.

THIS I’VE LEARNED
There are times when our feelings are hurt because of what someone said to us and we let it rob us of happiness. It’s best to discuss it with that person. Often the other person isn’t even aware they hurt our feelings and would want to apologize. We don’t need to hang on to “stuff” that perturbs us.  Think about it!
