This I’ve Learned

I WAS THINKING…
about daylight Savings time. Already? I don’t know what’s worse; being an hour early or an hour late. I once heard daylight savings time described as negotiating with time to outsmart the sun.

ON THE LIGHTER SIDE
WHAT SENIORS NEED NOW
A GPS that not only tells how to get to a destination, but why they wanted to go.
A remote that finds itself.
A GPS that remembers where they parked.
Pills that tastes like chocolate.

THE POWER OF SALT
Make a paste of turpentine mixed with salt to restore white enameled fixtures that have gone yellow. Apply, let sit 15 minutes, then wipe with a damp sponge.
Remove grease spots in rug with a mixture of 1 part salt to 4 parts rubbing alcohol. Rub hard, going same direction as nap, rinse with water.
If hot dish or water has marred the surface of a wood table, make a thin paste of salad oil and salt, wipe on the paste, buff slightly as you wipe off with a soft cloth.
To clean and shine copper or brass, make a paste with equal parts salt, flour and vinegar. Rub on with soft cloth, let sit 1 hour, then wipe and buff with a soft cloth. Clean slightly tarnished brass or copper with a sliced lemon dipped in salt. Rinse.

WORDS OF WISDOM
If you can’t have the best of everything, make the best of everything you have.

THIS I’VE LEARNED
There are times we may need help but don’t want to ask. Our friends or family usually like it when they know they can be there for us. Just as we do for them. Asking for help may be a “feel good’ thing for both. Think about it!
