This I’ve Learned

I WAS THINKING…
about the other day as I was walking through my neighborhood, I heard a loud YOU ARE ON CAMERA. It really startled me. I hope no one saw me jump. I looked at the near-by house and noticed a camera staring at me. I knew the camera was new because I walk past this house often. Gosh, it makes me wonder how many more candid cameras are around these days. Maybe I should just keep smiling.

YOU KNOW YOU’RE GETTING OLD WHEN…
you have to start eating what’s good for you instead of what you like.
the thought of weight-lifting exercises is enough to exhaust you.
your hair turns from gray to black. (Especially women)
you wear clothes for comfort instead of looks.

LET’S TALK ABOUT TOMATOES
(Taken from Haley’s Hints)
Ways to keep tomatoes firm while ripening:
Store stem-up in a shady place.
Place in a damp cloth and store in a paper bag.
Put in a brown bag with an apple.
Slice tomatoes vertically, instead of horizontally. They will keep firmer.
Pour boiling water over tomatoes. They will be ready to peel in 3 or 4 minutes.

THIS I’VE LEARNED
We should never give up hope because hope empowers us. When we are hopeful, we believe the future can be better and we will find ways to bring a better future. To quote Dalai Lama “If it can be solved, there’s no need to worry, and if it can’t be solved, worry is of no use.” Think about it.

UPLIFTS
(Taken from Fr. Hampsch’s book Uplifts)
Life is like a tennis game. The player who serves well seldom loses.
Don’t be so preoccupied with making a living that you forget to live.
