This I’ve Learned

I WAS THINKING…
about the older woman I recently saw who had green hair and it wasn’t even St. Patrick’s Day. I guess she was covering up the gray. I tried not to stare at her, but then I thought, she wouldn’t have colored it green if she didn’t want people to look at her. That’s okay, I admire her for being able to express herself. I wonder how I would look in purple hair.

ON THE LIGHTER SIDE
Jake was on his way home from a week-end fishing trip. Since he didn’t catch any fish, he stopped at a fish market.
“I’ll take five of those cat fish”, he said to the butcher. “Just throw them to me.”
“Are you serious? You want me to throw them to you?”
“Yeah, I’ll be able to tell my wife I caught these fish.”

WISDOM TO PONDER
(Taken from Life’s Little Handbook of Wisdom)
When you’re feeling overwhelmed, make a list.
Watch the pennies and the dollars will take care of themselves.
Give the gift of time. It’s a gift more valuable than money can buy.
Life will be easier when you realize how hard it is.

HOUSEHOLD HINTS
(Taken from Easy Does It)
Use an ordinary coffee filter to make windows sparkle better than a cloth or paper towel which can leave lint streaks, while coffee filters will not.
Keep bathroom basin and faucets sparkling clean by gently scrubbing with baking soda on a sponge.
Gently shine chrome surfaces with a soft cloth dampened with apple cider vinegar.
To cut down on musty and unpleasant odors and also soak up moisture in bathroom, hide some charcoal around room.

THIS I’VE LEARNED
I know we all have the same hours in a day, but it certainly seems as we get older, we are cheated. We can use this as a reminder of how precious time is and should spend our time doing what feels good. Think about it!
