This I’ve Learned

I WAS THINKING…
how nice it was to celebrate Easter. It makes me feel like spring is actually here. Easter was special when I was growing up. If I ever got a new dress, that would be the day. Actually, it might have been a hand-me-down from one of my sisters, but I knew I would look pretty good on Easter Sunday. Actually, I guess I still feel a need to “look my best” on Easter Sunday. I wonder if anyone noticed.

A COUPLE FACTS ABOUT EASTER
Easter lilies are the official flower of Easter because it was believed that the large, white flowers described in the Bible as growing quickly throughout Palestine were lilies; therefore, used today to symbolizes the resurrection of Christ.
Easter occurs on the first Sunday after the Paschal full moon, which is the first full moon on or after the Spring Equinox.

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
It has been said that there is no fool like an old fool. But the young fool has to grow up to be an old fool to realize what a dam fool he was when he was a young fool.
They tell you that you’ll lose your mind when you grow older. What they don’t tell you is that you won’t miss it much.
We need old friends to help us grow old and new friends to help us stay young.

HANDY SUBSTITUTES
Taken from Haley Hints
Need a splatter guard? A metal colander placed over a frying pan, rim down, will allow stream to escape while eliminating splatters.
A wet tea bag can be used for a tempory sink plug.
A potato peeler works quite well as a pencil sharpener. Don’t forget to wash it thoroughly afterwards.

THIS I’VE LEARNED
The story and reason for Easter is meant to be a symbol of hope and renewal. Isn’t that what the world needs now. Actually, each brand-new day generates hope and renewal when we stay positive. The lovely sunrise can be a reminder and at the end of the day the beautiful sunset can give us a sense of peace. Our life will stay peaceful if we never give up hope.  Think about it!
