This I’ve Learned

I WAS THINKING…
how every time I see someone with stooped shoulders, I automatically stand-up straight. It makes me realize that I need to stand up tall all the time. I guess standing tall is a matter of a good habit and remembering. Perhaps I should paste a picture on my bathroom mirror. I did find one exercise on the web. Maybe I can remember it.  (see below)

A SNIPPET FROM THE WEB TO HELP SHOULDER POSTURE.
One way to help change the position of the shoulder blades on the rib cage is to gently roll the shoulders up, back, and down, squeezing the bottom angles of the shoulder blades lightly together without lifting the chest or sternum.

ON THE LIGHTER SIDE
When George got home from a shopping trip to the supermarket, his wife checked the groceries and complained that he had forgotten many of the items he was supposed to buy. “At least I remembered to drive home in the car this time,” George said with an air of satisfaction. “Car! What car? We don’t own a car”, she shrieked.

MOSQUITOES?
(Taken from Haley’s Hints)
Mosquitoes dislike the scent of oranges.
They love damp or blue clothing.
Mosquitoes on walls or windows? Use a long attachment on vacuum hose.
Keep them from breeding in rain barrel, pour a little cooking oil on surface.
Plant basil in sunny spots near doors. Mosquitoes are repelled by the smell.

THIS I’VE LEARNED
I once heard that “Life is 10% of what happens to you and 90% of how we react to it”.
We don’t know how life is going to unfold. When we are confronted with difficult times, it’s natural to react with high emotions. How we react may have lasting results. Often, we can’t change the situation, so we must not let it control our life. Good judgement and faith will move us forward. Think about it!
