This I’ve Learned

I WAS THINKING…
about the man who had his head buried in his phone while walking his dog in the park. He was walking really fast and a small puppy was running really hard just to keep up. The man had no clue. Have you ever had a time when you wanted to say something, but didn’t? This was one of those times for me. I’m hoping that cute little pooch got a good treat.

THE LIGHTER SIDE
Gary was at a wedding and whispered to a guy next to him,
“The bride certainly isn’t very attractive.”
“Do you mind. That’s my daughter you’re talking about.”
“I’m sorry, I didn’t know you were her father.”
“I’m not, I’m her mother”.

WAGE WAR ON STAINS
(Taken from Easy Does It)
*Remove rust or tea stains by putting lemon juice and salt on stain, set it in the sun to dry, then wash. Or a paste of lemon juice and cream of tartar may do the trick.
*Acrylic, latex and other water-based paints can be washed out with warm water. But don’t let it dry, it may then be impossible to remove.
*Cosmetic stains are easy to remove. Dip the spot in cool water, rub with white bar soap, rinse and wash as usual.
*Ring around the collar? Apply shampoo directly on stain, let it stand, then wash.
*If you get grease on clothing while cooking, rub baking soda or cornstarch to absorb grease. Let it dry, brush away powder, and wash as soon as possible.

THIS I’VE LEARNED
So often we worry about the past and the future, but the present moment is our key to contentment and happiness. To quote Ralph Waldo Emerson, “What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.” What we think and do in the present moment will determine what lies behind us and before us. Think about it!
