This I’ve Learned

I WAS THINKING…
about the victims of the hurricanes. My heart has been very heavy watching what they are going through. But I’m also impressed with a spirit of hope that has emerged from the aftermath. In the devastation and chaos there is strength from all the aid and support.
I won’t complain the next time we have a really windy day.

ON THE LIGHTER SIDE
Katy rubbed a magical lamp. A Genie appeared for her wish.
“My wish is for men to run after me”,  Katy responded.
So, the Genie turned her into a socker ball.
The new policeman was frantic when he called for help. “I have a killing here. Ol’ Mrs. Grady just shot her husband for walking on the floor she just mopped”.
“We’ll be right there. Do you have Mrs. Grady in hand cuffs?
“No, not yet. The floor is still wet.”

REMOVING CARPET STAINS
(Taken from Haley Hints)
If stain is still wet, pour on club soda, blot until moisture is absorbed.
Shaving cream is a terrific instant carpet stain remover.
Salt is good for absorbing mud stains. Sprinkle on fresh stains and allow to soak up the moisture than vacuum.
Don’t rub a carpet to soak up liquid. Use as much dry cloth as needed, blot until the liquid has been absorbed.
If first treatment fails, let carpet dry before you try something else.

THIS I’VE LEARNED
How often we are tormented because of circumstances that we have no control over and we can’t change it. This can be very difficult. This Serenity Prayer could help:” God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; the courage to change the thing I can, and wisdom to know the difference”. Think about it!
