This I’ve Learned

I WAS THINKING…
about the woman that came in the beauty shop when I was there. She was using a walker with such confidence. Although she had enough wrinkles to justify her 92 years (as I was told), her make-up and beautiful jewelry seem to over shadow the wrinkles. Maybe I just learned the secret to “looking good” when I’m 92. I’m going to hang on to my jewelry and make-up.

ON THE LIGHTER SIDE
Whenever Joyce has to fill out a form that asks “who to call in case of emergency”, She always put ambulance because she says no one in her family is going to answer a call from an unknown number.

HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED
If sweating while you shop counts as exercise.
Why they call it rush hour when traffic hardly moves.
Why you can’t lose weight as easily as your keys, pen, cell phone, etc.

COFFEE TIME
(Taken from Easy Does It)
To clean a thermos from coffee stains; fill with water, drop in three denture tables, and let them fizz the thermos clean.
If you are out of coffee filters, paper towels work fine in an emergency.
If brewed coffee becomes bitter for sitting too long, add just a touch of club soda (about ¼ cup for every one and a half cups of coffee).  Stir and enjoy.
Coffee beans will stay fresher longer if you store them in the freezer.
Don’t throw away the plastic lid from the coffee can. Slip it on the bottom of the new coffee can to protect your cabinet shelf from scuff marks.

THIS I’VE LEARNED
How easy it is for us to procrastinate. We all do it, but some people are worse than others because it has become a habit. Tomorrow sounds better than right now. It’s up to ourselves to make sure it doesn’t become a habit. Maybe the next time we are tempted to wait we should look in the mirror and say JUST DO IT! Think about it.
