This I’ve Learned

Blog March 10, 2025

I WAS THINKING…
about a friend who told me she was embarrassed when she realized people were staring because she was talking to herself. I had to laugh when she told how she reacted. “Oh, I just held up my phone and pretended I was on the phone”.  Well, I’m going to make sure I have my phone handy all the time.

ON THE LIGHTER SIDE
They are having an age problem. He won’t act his and she won’t tell hers.
If you want to know a woman’s age, ask someone who doesn’t like her.
Her age is her own business and it looks like she’s been in business a long time.
A sign of old age is the size of the obstacle that gets in your way when you tie your shoes.

HOW LONG IS FIFTY YEARS?
(Taken from Facebook)
5 Decades     600 Months     2,609 Weeks
18,263 Days   438,312 Hours      26,298,720 Minutes
and 1,577,923,200 Seconds

SEE BALD EAGLES, JACKIE AND SHADOW, LIVE IN THEIR NEST
On Feb 3rd we were able to see bald eagles set on their nest of eggs at Big Bear. The eagles’ names are Jackie and Shadow. The eggs have hatched and there are three eaglets in the nest. Go now to Big Bear to watch the new eaglets in their nest with Jackie and Shadow.
Google the link below and have fun watching (May need to copy and paste)

CLEAN HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCES
Garbage Disposal: Use a natural abrasive combo of ice and salt to loosen grime from the blades. Run until the ice is gone. (Will be loud) Afterwards grind lemon or lime wedge to deodorize the drain.
Washing Machine: Sanitize and remove mildew buildup every few months. Run the hot wash cycle without a load and add one cup of bleach in soap dispenser or directly into the machine.
Vacuum Sweeper: Keep vacuum maintained with simple fixes; unclogging hoses, cleaning rotation brush and replacing the filter.

THIS I’VE LEARNED
We’ve all made a decision that we regret later and wonder “What was I thinking?”.  We may dwell on it and even lose sleep about it. But no matter how much we think about it, it’s over and we can’t change it. Maybe if we recall the moment we responded, we can justify what we were thinking and not be so hard on ourselves. Perhaps we should consider it as another mistake that we can learn from. Think about it!
