I WAS THINKING…
about a puddle of water I saw after the rain. I was tempted to take off my shoes and splash in it, but I didn’t. It wasn’t long until the water was gone. It made me wonder what else have I missed in life because I decided not to do it. Maybe the next time I see puddle of water; I’ll just go for it.
FASCINATING FACTS / BODY
Taken from the book Fascinating Facts
A person’s nose and ears continue to grow throughout their life.
It’s impossible to sneeze and keep one’s eyes open at the same time.
Blue eyes are most sensitive to light, dark brown the least sensitive.
It takes 17 muscles to smile, 43 to frown.
One-fourth of the 206 bones in the body are located in the feet.
Tongue prints are as unique as fingerprints.
WAYS TO HELP CUT FLOWERS LAST LONGER
Taken from Mary Ellen’s Best of Helpful Hints
Cut stems at an angle with sharp scissors or knife.
Split ends of thick stems before putting into vase.
Cut stems under water so no air bubbles can form to stop flow of water into the stem.
Always remove leaves below waterline.
A good preservative is 2 TBLS of white vinegar and 2 TBLS of cane sugar. (The vinegar inhibits growth of organisms and sugar serves as food)
If possible, refrigerate each night.
Don’t crowd flowers in the vase.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Temper is what gets most people in trouble and pride is what keeps them there.
The trouble with people who speak too soon is they often say something they haven’t thought of yet.
Sometimes having an open mind means keeping a closed mind.
THIS I’VE LEANED
Remembering someone’s birthday with a card, e-mail or phone call doesn’t take much effort, but we may never know how much it meant. Let’s remember how good it feels when someone remembers us. Perhaps we can make someone’s birthday a little more special. Think about it!
