This I’ve Learned

I WAS THINKING…
about spring. It’s hard to believe it’s already sprung. After a challenging winter I’m sure I’m not the only one who is ready. Don’t you love the way Mother Nature is popping up flowers and spreading blankets of green. I can’t wait to smell the roses.

FAMOUS QUOTES ABOUT SPRING
Spring is nature’s way of saying ‘Let’s party!’” – Robin Williams
“Spring adds new life and new beauty to all that is.” – Jessica Harrelson
“No matter how chaotic, wildflowers still spring up in the middle of nowhere.” Sheryl Crow
“Spring shows what God can do with a drab and dirty world.” – Virgil A. Kraft
“In spring, the earth is like a child that knows poems by heart.” – Rainer Maria Rilke
Spring is when life’s alive in everything.” – Christina Rossetti

ON THE LIGHTER SIDE
John was bored so he went to the mall and found a good parking spot and sat in his car with the reverse lights on.
Joyce took up coin collecting. The change did her good.
Jake never thought he’d be the kind of person who would wake up early to exercise. He was right.

COOKING HINTS
(Taken from A Century of Home Remedies)
*If salad needs to stand a few hours, place a saucer upside down on the bottom of the bowl before filling it with salad. The moisture will run underneath and keep the salad fresh.
*When cutting marshmallows or dates, dip scissors into water and cut them when wet.
*Don’t throw out dried cheese. Grate and store in covered container to use for cooking.
*Bake apples or stuffed peppers in muffin tins to help hold their shape.
*Add grated potato to ground beef for more juicy hamburgers.

THIS I’VE LEARNED
At the end of our day, we sometimes reflect on what we did that day. It might seem natural to recall the negative, but if we try to forget about the negative and remember all the nice things that happened, we’ll be happier. Think about it.
