I WAS THINKING…
about the upcoming Holy Week and Easter. It’s always been a significant time for me even when growing up. I remember if I ever got a new dress or hat, it would be for Easter Sunday.

INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT FOOD

Dill pickles are twice as popular as sweet.
Lettuce is the world’s most popular green.
The Swedes drink more coffee than any others in the world.
Wine will spoil if exposed to light; hence tinted bottles.
Potato chips were invented by a chief in Louisiana in 1865.
Fifty gallons of maple sap is needed to make a gallon of maple sugar.
Honey is the only food that does not spoil.

FOOD SUGGESTIONS
When eating a hamburger bun, turn It over so the bottom is on top. The top of the bun is much thicker and better on the bottom to hold the sandwich together.
Cut a peeled banana in half and sick a popsicle stick down the middle, then freeze. You will have a healthy popsicle.
Cut cantaloupe into small pieces, spread on a cookie sheet, then freeze. After it is frozen, put into a freezer bag. (Parchment paper works well on the cookie sheet.)
Cut apple won’t turn brown if you covered it with lemon juice.

OVERHEARD
It’s easier to accept another’s faults once you have acknowledged your own.
Sometimes a library of words can’t say what a hug can.
Sharing worries can make them disappear.

THIS I’VE LEARNED
Holy week is a good time for us to reflect and deepen our faith. Then perhaps on Easter Sunday we will feel refreshed and energized to enjoy what the year has in store for us. Think about it!
