This I’ve Learned

I WAS THINKING…
of things I remember. Oh, I’m not talking about my childhood or busy life. I’m remembering the things I could do just a few years ago but not so much anymore. I remember when it was easy for me sit cross-legged on the floor and I would hop right up. I like to see people run. I remember when I could run. I could even do a cart-wheel. No, I’m not complaining. I’m just recalling the good old days.

 ON THE LIGHTER SIDE
The only thing that comes to us without effort is old age.
He who gets too big for his breeches will be exposed in the end.
Whenever a man brags that he never makes a mistake; I know he has a wife who did.

TWEAK YOUR DRINKS
(Taken from The Household Hint Handbook)
To make mocha flavored coffee, add chocolate milk instead of plain milk.
Add vanilla or coffee ice-cream to hot coffee instead of milk and sugar. Yummy!
For top-notch lemonade flavor, use the whole lemon, put through a grinder, instead of just the juice.
Brew tea in a china or earthenware pot, never metal, to bring out best flavor.

A PERFECT CUP OF GREEN TEA
Don’t steep green tea in boiling water. Use water that is almost hot enough to boil, and only steep the tea for two or three minutes—no longer. For different flavors, add lemon or orange juice, a teaspoon vanilla extract or honey, or mint leaves.

THIS I’VE LEARNED
All of us worry. It’s natural to be concerned. But often we dwell on thoughts that rob us from feeling happy. Actually, worry can become a habit and we’re not even aware this is happening. Perhaps we should consider what we are doing and strive to let go of unnecessary worry.   Think about it!
