This I’ve Learned

I WAS THINKING…
about Pope Francis’s funeral. There were hundreds of thousands of people and dozens of world leaders and dignitaries from around the world all gathered in one place. Although the reason was solemn, I couldn’t help but think how great it was to have all these people together in a peaceful gathering. And to make it even better, they gathered to pray.

ON THE LIGHTER SIDE
Jane wondered if her new dentist was the same Tony Meyers who was in in high school class twenty-five years ago. The Tony Meyers she knew was slim and handsome. Tony didn’t fit that description.
“Where did you go to high school?” Jane asked.
“I graduated from Belmont High School many years ago.”
“I think you were in my class.”
“Oh really. What did you teach?”

FOOD HINTS- LET’S TALK ABOUT EGGS
(Taken from Heloise)
Eggs can be stored in their cartons in the refrigerator as long as five weeks. The store carton is the best container for storage.
Hard-cooked eggs in the shell can be stored eight to ten days.
Egg whites can be stored two to four days is in a covered container.
Egg yolks can also be stored for two to four days if covered with water.
Eggs cannot be frozen in their shells, but raw whole eggs, whites, yolks and hard-cooked yolks can be frozen. Here’s how to freeze:  Egg whites sealed in a freezer container. For whole eggs or yolk, add a dash of salt or sugar.
Thaw frozen eggs overnight in the fridge or under cool running water.

THIS I’VE LEARNED
We might notice someone who seems to be thinking about something that is painful to them. We might wonder if we should approach them or not bother them. Of course, it would depend on our relationship, but often it would be a kind gesture if we asked them if they would like to talk. Think about it!
