This I’ve Learned

I WAS THINKING…
about my exerstrider poles. They’re pretty neat. I feel safer when I take my short walks. I still wonder if I get enough exercise. Well, I do bend over a lot, like every time I accidently drop the soap in the shower.

ON THE LIGHTER SIDE
I thought getting old was going to take longer.
I’m not getting old. I just can’t remember stuff because my brain is full.
I thought I would get older and wiser instead of older and wider.

EVERY THING YOU WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT RAINBOWS
(Taken from The Old Farmer’s Almanac)
A rainbow is formed by refraction and internal reflection of sunlight in raindrops. Three conditions must be met to see a rainbow. There must be raindrops, the Sun must be shining, and the observer must be between the Sun and the raindrops. The best time to look for a rainbow is when there are alternating showers and a clear sky. The colors of the rainbow (from outside to inside) are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet.

GET CREATIVE WITH SPICES AND HERBS
(From Heloise Household Guide – I haven’t personally tried-you’re on your own)
Chili Powder: Perk up sloppy joes, eggs or cottage cheese
Pinch of cloves: Sweet potatoes or sliced buttered carrots
Cumin: potatoes and rice
Celery Seed: One teaspoon to one cup French dressing
Cayenne: Coleslaw
Cilantro: Scrambled eggs
Basil: Peas, green beans, eggplant zucchini and macaroni

THIS I’VE LEARNED
Sometimes when we think about certain people, we only remember their faults. Perhaps we may need to be more mindful and realize that’s what we do. We can then feel better about that person and at the same time it might help us to develop a more positive mind. Think about it!
