This I’ve Learned

I WAS THINKING…
about school starting already. Gosh, when I was growing up, school never started until after Labor Day. I needed that extra time to finish summer.
Actually, it’s neat to see all the backpacking kids again.

WORDS OF WISDOM FROM A 100-YEAR-OLD
Make peace with your past so it won’t screw up the present.
Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.
Get rid of anything that isn’t useful. Clutter weighs you down.
No one is in charge of your happiness but you.
What other people think of you is none of your business.
Believe in miracles.
However good or bad a situation, it will change.

A DRIVING NO NO
(Taken from Heloise)
When you are waiting to turn left at an intersection do not start turning your wheel.  If someone rear-ends you, since your tires are already starting to turn, you can be pushed into oncoming traffic.

AMISH HINTS
(Taken from Amish Health Secrets)
Add nylon netting to your dryer.  It will catch most of the lint.
Sprinkle a lemon wedge with salt and use it to scrub the kitchen sink clean.
When painting inside, cut onions in half and lay around to take away odor.
To remove rust or grape juice stains, moisten area with white vinegar. Cover with salt and rub gently and rinse with cold water.

THIS I’VE LEARNED
For many of us it’s always been important to dress in style. But as we grow older, we are still concerned about style, but it’s more important to be comfortable. Think about it!
