I WAS THINKING…
about my calendar. It reminded me that the first day of autumn is already here. But I’m not finished with summer. I guess I don’t have to let my calendar persuade me. Actually, fall is my favorite time of year, but until I’m ready, I’m hanging on to summer.
YOU KNOW YOU’E GETTING OLDER WHEN…
Everyone seems to whisper.
You are good at telling stories…over and over and over.
Weight lifting means standing up.
People your age seems a lot older than you.
When you go out, you check the restroom first.
Fewer things seem worth waiting in line for.
TAKE THE PANE OUT OF WASHING WINDOWS
(Taken from Country Doctor’s Kitchen Secrets)
Don’t wash windows on a sunny day. They will dry too fast and show streaks.
Add ½ cup ammonia, ½ cup white vinegar and 2 tablespoons of cornstarch to a bucket of water for a perfect window washing solution.
Shine with newspaper instead of paper towels.
Dry the inside panes with vertical strokes and outside with horizonal strokes. You will notice quickly which side has the smudges.
After dried, rub with a blackboard eraser for a really fine shine.

THIS I’VE LEARNED
Sometimes we get down on ourselves because of imperfections in our looks; especially as we grow older. Perhaps if we keep in mind that beauty doesn’t fade as we age, it just becomes more unique. Think about it!
