This I’ve Learned

I WAS THINKING…
about a recent video that was taken of me. But I can’t figure it out.  The woman in the video looks so much older than I am.

ON THE LIGHTER SIDE
(Thoughts on getting old)
I always say I’m 10 years older than I am. It’s the only way I can still get a compliment.
I’m thankful for my wrinkles. It’s proof I have for my tough life.
So, I’m not as beautiful as I once was, but I’m much more comfortable.
Sometimes I wish I was young again until I remember arithmetic.
I’m glad I’m not absent minded. I’m glad I’m not absent minded.
It took me years to get my head together.  Now my body is falling apart.

SECRETS TO LOW- COST CLEANING
(Taken from The Country Doctor’s Kitchen Secrets)
To clean microwave, put a vinegar-water mixture in a bowl, place it in microwave for 5 minutes, then wipe clean.
Use an inexpensive battery-powered toothbrush to clean those cracks and crevices around sink faucets, tile grout and corners of baseboards. Just sprinkle powder cleanser or spray on a household cleaner and let the brush do the work.
Baking soda is a household wonder cleaner. It is a mild abrasive so it can scour pots and pans, sinks, bathtubs, and ovens without scratching. It can also be used on countertops, tile, glass and walls.
Not only leave an open box of baking soda in the fridge to prevent bad smells, keep a small dish of baking soda in the bathroom to absorb odors.

A QUICK MEDICAL ADVISE
(Taken from The Doctor’s book of Home Remedies)
BURN:  Cool water from faucet will stop burning. But never use cold or ice because that may kill skin cells. Prep it with Preparation H. Dab it on the burn and cover with bandage. It works because it contains a yeast derivative that helps healing.

THIS I’VE LEARNED
“The older we get the faster the time goes.” How many times have we said that?
Of course, we all know everyone has the same time at the same speed, but as we get older, we realize how precious our time is. That doesn’t mean we need to keep busy all the time, so we won’t feel like we are wasting time. Sometimes the most precious moments are the quiet ones. Actually, a precious moment is best when we feel at peace no matter what we are doing. There may be times when we need to evaluate if we are allowing worry or anxiety to rob of us of peaceful precious moments. Think about it!
