This I’ve Learned

I WAS THINKING…
why did I do it again? I forgot to check for Kleenex in a pocket before tossing in the washer. Now I know what black slacks look like with confetti.

LIGHTER SIDE OF GETTING OLD
Don’t worry about senility. When it hits you, you won’t know it.
My health is good; it’s my age that’s bad.
An old young man will be a young old man.
No one is old enough to know better.
I may be like an antique, but antiques are valuable.

CARE OF VACUUM BOTTLES
(Taken from Reader’s Digest Household Hints)
Hand-wash glass-lined vacuum bottles in dish-washing detergent and warm water, but do not immerse. Use a bottle brush if necessary. Rinse and invert to dry.
If the bottle has absorbed a beverage odor, freshen it with 1 tablespoon of baking soda and warm water. Let stand 20 minutes, scrub out, rinse and air dry.

COOKING FOR ONE?
It’s okay to buy large bags of frozen fruit or vegetables. Use what you need, seal the bag, and return the rest in the freezer to use as you want. No need to put in individual bags.
If fresh fruit goes bad before you can use it, buy frozen fruit. It can taste as good as fresh and will be handy in the freezer.

THIS I’VE LEARNED
We often wonder what to give for a gift. There are many ideas but the most precious gift we can give is our time. Perhaps our gift could be to make a date to spend time together doing something special. Or to do something for them that needs to be done. Think about it!
