This I’ve Learned

I WAS THINKING
about the recent Valentine’s Day. I can’t think of anything better to celebrate than LOVE. It’s the one thing that everyone wants and needs. I heard it said that love is like the wind, you can’t see it, but you can feel it. I hope everyone had a special day.

ON THE LIGHTER SIDE
John picked up a hitchhiker on the state highway.
He seemed like a nice guy. After a few hours, he asked John if he wasn’t afraid that he might be a serial killer.
John replied, “I don’t know man, the odds of two serial killers being in the same car is highly unlikely”.

HINTS FOR THE GARBAGE DISPOSAL
(Taken from Heloise’s All-New Hints)
Always run lots of cold water while using and for a few seconds after use. If not, food waste will back up and damage the unit.
Grind orange or lemon rinds to get rid of odors.
When grinding tough food, add other foods to keep from a jam.
Occasionally, flush by filling up the sink, then drain with the disposal running.
Never use drain cleaners in disposal because they may do damage.
Don’t put artichoke leaves, asparagus or very stringy vegetables down the disposable.
To unjam, press the red starter button and turn the disposal on. If it still is jammed, use a something like a broomstick to turn it clockwise to unjam.

THIS I’VE LEARNED
There are times when we see someone and we wish we were as pretty or handsome as they are. It’s good to appreciate other’s beauty, but we each have a beauty of our own because what we look like is what God gave us when we were born. No one else looks like us. (Even twins are not exact). Perhaps we should consider that what we look like is special and appreciate what we see in the mirror. Think about it!
