I WAS THINKING…
about this winter’s harsh weather for so many. I know better than to complain about my California’s weather. I had to chuckle when my sister told me how happy she was when the temperature went UP to 40 degrees because I complain when the temperature goes DOWN to 40 degrees.
ON THE LIGHTER SIDE
Overheard at the senior center
He can’t even remember the last time he forgot something.
There are some old people here who are the same age as I am.
I’d rather be old than dead.
I used to be indecisive, now I’m not sure.

THE DO’S AND DON’TS OF THE MICROWAVE
(Taken from Reader’s Digest Practical Problem Solver)
Never cook in metal containers.
Be sure your microwave cookware is tall enough to accommodate boiling foods.
Always loosen lids of frozen food containers, slit food pouches and pierce food with skin so steam can escape when cooking.
Follow the recipe and always let food stand after taking it out. It is still cooking.
The door should be closed tight when not in use.
To freshen soggy chips, pretzels or crackers, microwave on high for 30 to 60 seconds; let stand 2 minutes.
Make a compress warmer by wrapping a plastic-wrapped dampened washcloth, microwave on high for 15 to 30 seconds or until warm to the touch.
THIS I’VE LEARNED
Often, we’ll make a decision and later realize it wasn’t the best decision. It’s only natural to regret it and feel stupid for acting too fast. Most of the time it’s too
Late to change the situation, so we just need to move on and not think about it.
Perhaps we can even learn from out mistake. Tomorrow is waiting for us.
