This I’ve Learned

I WAS THINKING…
about the show ANNIE I recently saw at a local theater. I was very impressed with the little girls in it, especially the girl who played Annie. It reminded me of myself and how I always liked being a ham. I guess that never goes away.

NEVER FORGET WHO YOU ARE
You chased butterflies                             Build a snowman
Couldn’t sleep at Christmas                    Wanted to sit by the car window
Rode a bicycle for the first time             Had to eat things you didn’t like
Loved parades                                           Loved going to the zoo

OVERHEARD AT THE SENIOR CENTER
I’m wondering, if you’re only as old as you feel, how could I be alive at 150?
I’m good at opening childproof caps with a hammer.
I’m sure everything I can’t find is in a secure place.
I’m wrinkled and saggy, and that’s just my left leg.

ENJOY YOUR BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS INDOORS
(Taken from Reader’s Digest Household Hints)
Put glass marbles into a net bag and set the bag in the bottom of a vase or a bowl to hold flowers.
Arrange long-stemmed flowers in a wide-mouthed vase, crisscross strips of scotch tape just inside the top of the vase. You can insert the stems into the spaces between the tape.
If you still have some plastic hair rollers, bind several together with a rubber band and place at bottom of an opaque vase. It will hold flowers.
Pick flowers in early morning or evening. Cut the stems at an angle. Hold off arranging the flowers in the vase until the water has reached room temperature. Remove all leaves that will go into the water.

THIS I’VE LEARNED
We have a choice of who we call good friends. It’s important we are uplifted when we spend a lot of time with someone. Perhaps we should consider if they are negative or lack a sense of humor. Of course, if we feel good and have fun with our friends, we should cherish them. Think about it!
