I WAS THINKING…
about income taxes. Why is it that April 15th comes earlier every year. It’s said that time goes fast when you’re having fun. I guess I’m having lots of fun. I thought it was interesting that the IRS spells theirs.
SUCCESS:
At age 4 success is …not piddling in your pants.
At age 12 success is …having friends.
At age 17 success is…having a driver’s license.
At age 34 success is…having money.
AT age 50 success is…having money.
At age 70 success is…having a driver’s license.
At age 75 success is…having friends.
At age 80 success is…not piddling in your pants.
OVERHEARD
Age is a matter of attitude, not of years.
HINTS WHEN COOKING
(Taken from The Household Hint Handbook)
When you only need a little lemon juice, pierce to squeeze, instead of cutting. It will last longer if not cut.
A quick thickener for gravies and sauces: instant mashed potato flakes.
To keep milk from scorching, add a little sugar to the pan. Don’t stir.
For the smoothest gravy, make a mixture of half-and-half cornstarch and flour. To save time, combine cornstarch and flour and keep handy in a jar.
If oil splatters when you fry, turn a metal colander upside down over the pan. Steam will escape through the hole, but the fat won’t.
THIS I’VE LEARNED
There are times when we change our mind about a decision we’ve made, but hesitate to change it because of what others may think. Actually, our decision is most important to ourselves, so what others think is not important. Think about it.
