This I’ve Learned

I WAS THINKING
about  Christmas day. It’s happening this week. Children have been nice instead of naughty. People have been busy swiping credit cards. Shopping centers and stores are serenading shoppers with holiday music. But I couldn’t help but think about the victims of the devastating tornadoes. I pray that they will find peace and joy in the delightful decorations and Christmas carols, but especially with the meaning of Christmas. And for me, my favorite gift is YOU, my readers.  Thank you for sharing your time with me.  MERRY CHRISTMAS!

BEST UNWRAPPED GIFT – HOPE
Don’t lose hope when the sun goes down, the stars come out.
Hope is seeing light in spite of being surrounded by darkness.
Hope is not a dream but a way of making dreams become reality.
Hope is the only thing stronger than fear.
Pain is real but so is hope.

SIGNS OF THE TIME
Sign at an Optometrist’s Office: If you can’t see what you’re looking for, you’ve come to the right place.
In a Veterinarian’s Waiting Room: Be back in 5 minutes. Sit! Stay!
On a fence: Salesmen welcome! Dog food is expensive.
On A Billboard – Ad for A Safe Company: If your stuff is stolen, it’s not our vault.
Coin Collectors: For Old Dimes Sake.

OVERHEARD AT THE SENIOR CENTER
My Christmas list is short. All the things I want can’t be bought.

HAIRSPRAY TO THE RESCUE
(Taken from Grandma Putt’s Problem Solvers)
Spray the ribbons and bows on your outdoor wreath with hairspray to keep them dry and perky.
Spray the satiny Christmas tree ornaments with hairspray to keep the threads from unraveling.
Your Christmas tree will keep its needles longer if you spritz it from top to bottom with hairspray.

PUNCH LINES
Love is a boomerang.  It eventually comes back.
Those who love make their days count and never count days.
