This I’ve Learned

I WAS THINKING…
about the firefighters who sacrifice so much to battle the terrifying wild fires. I can’t even imagine how they could tolerate sometimes the three-digit temperature. But they have no choice. What we call being a HERO, they just call it their job. Words can’t even thank them enough, nor the homebound heroes, who see their love ones leave and are worried sick until they’re home safely.  In my book FIREFIGHTERS ARE HOT STUFF!

YOU KNOW YOU ARE GETTING OLD WHEN…

wonder why it’s called the golden age, but your hair turns silver.

If you think the world is moving too fast, stand in line at the post office.
The only way he gets hugs is when he tightens his belt.

Jake loved telling everyone that his wife came crawling to him on her hands and knees. But what he didn’t say is that he was hiding under the bed.
Every woman waits for the right man, but meanwhile she may get married.

AVOCADOS – MORE THAN A FOOD
(Taken from Grandma Putt’s Problem Solvers book)
For dry, frizzy hair, peel and mash a ripe avocado, work into hair, leave on for 15 minutes. Rinse out with cool water.
To soften and nourish dry skin, mix ½ mashed avocado with ½ mashed banana, spread on face and neck. After 15 minutes, rinse with lukewarm water, pat dry.
