This I’ve Learned

I WAS THINKING…
how beautiful the yards are these days. After the generous rain and warmer weather, exquisite flowers seem to suddenly appear. Lately, I don’t consider walking through my neighborhood an ‘exercise duty’ but a treat to see all the yards come alive.

SAY IT WITH FLOWERS
Where flowers bloom so does hope.  Lady Bird Johnson
Flowers are the music of the ground from earth’s lips spoken without sound.  Edwin Curral
Every flower blooms in its own time.   Ken Petti
Life is the flower for which love is the honey. Victor Hugo
There’s always flowers for those who want to see them.  Henri Matisse
The earth laughs in flowers. Ralph Waldo Emerson

LESSONS FROM THE FLOWERS
Life is like a flower. You must take care of it or it will wither and die.
When life throws torns; hunt for the roses.
Be like the rarest flower that blooms in the toughest conditions.
There is the mud and the flower that grows out of the mud. We need the mud in order to make flowers.
Plant flowers in others gardens and your life becomes a bouquet.
The flowers of tomorrow are the seeds of today.

WHEN LIFE GIVES YOU LEMONS – MAKE LEMONADE
Or use them to clean you house
Keep fridge smelling fresh: Set a dish of cotton balls in lemon juice in the fridge.
Clean microwave: Heat lemon with water in microwave. Let set in there for five  minutes. The steam will loosen the grime and allow you to easily wipe it clean.
Cutting board: Sprinkle with salt then rub it off with half lemon and rinse clean.
Wipe faucets with a lemon, then wipe with clean cloth.
Lemon is good for cleaning soap scum in sinks, tubs or showers.
Garbage Disposal: Put lemon rinds in disposal to clean and for a refreshing smell.
Get rid of ants: Put about a cup of lemon juice in spray bottle, then fill with water. Spray where you see ants.
