I WAS THINKING…
about two special ladies who are an inspiration to me. Like myself, they have birthdays in October. Lillie turned 96 and Rhea turned 98. They don’t know each other, so I get to celebrate birthdays with each. Although they’ve had serious health problems, it’s amazing how their minds are still very sharp. (I sure hope people can say that about me when I’m 96 and 98.) There are perks to having friends their age, especially their words of wisdom, but my favorite is…they think I’m young.
IS IT A COMPLIMENT OR AN INSULT?
You never change?
You look gorgeous. I didn’t recognize you.
KEEP A HAPPY FACE
Break a large task into several small tasks. It’s not as overwhelming.
Use your mistakes to learn. That’s how we grow.
Cherish your health:
If it is good, preserve it.
If it is unstable, improve it.
If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.
ON THE LIGHTER SIDE
A wealthy man was on his way home to his mansion when he saw two men on the side of the road eating grass. “Why are you eating grass?” he asked.
“We have no money and this is all we have to eat.”
“Hop in my car and you can eat at my house.”
After they were settled, one man said, “Thank you so much for inviting us to your home to eat. That is very kind.”
“No, problem,” the wealthy man answered. “You’re going to love it. My grass is about eight inches long”.
GET RID OF ANTS
(Taken from Easy Does It)
Sprinkle powder or flour wherever ants might enter the house. Ants won’t crawl through it. Pour ammonia down ant holes in your yard. You will kill them before they find your home.
Ants also stay away from the smell of peppermint.
To become smart, associate with the wise, not the otherwise.
Give a comb to a bald man and he’ll never part with it.
