This I’ve Learned

I WAS THINKING…
about all the students who are graduating and had to miss the Pomp and Circumstance March. So sorry about that.  But nothing can take away the pride parents and grandparents feel. I know because my grandson is one of those awesome people. He graduates from San Diego State. I am so proud.
Congratulations to all the graduates who are graduating from grade school, high school or college. As you move to the next stage of life, I’d like to quote what John Wooden once said, “Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do.”

IS THAT A COMPLIMENT OR AN INSULT?
You look good for your age.
Let me do that for you.
You have more garbage than any of the neighbors.

HINTS TO KEEP PESTS FROM GARDEN
Sprinkle cayenne or black pepper around the plants squirrels may eat.
Scatter mothballs around garden and flower beds to keep rodents and cats away. Also toss a few mothballs in a tool chest to prevent rust on the tools.

ON THE LIGHTER SIDE
(Overheard about staying at home)
Thank God I don’t have to go to work. I get up, and there it is, all around me.
Now I know why my dog gets excited to go for a walk.
I feel like I’m in Vegas. I’m loosing money, can have cocktails when I want and no one knows what time it is.
I stop from putting my hands on my face by holding a glass of wine in each hand.

YOU KNOW YOU’RE GETTING OLD…
when wherever you go, you check out the restroom first thing.
when you’re smiling because you can’t hear what’s been said.

PUNCH LINES
Everyone’s right sometimes. Even a stopped watch is right twice a day.
Some people think they have acting talent if their leg has been in a cast.

Punch Lines are complimentary of Fr. John Hampsch, C.M.F.
