This I’ve Learned

Blog Aug. 23, 2021

I WAS THINKING…
about the Luau dinner dance, I went to Saturday night at the senior center.
Most of the people were definitely seniors. The music was lively and so wasn’t
the dancing. No one needed a partner to jump around the dance floor and
there was no need for anyone to act their age. But there was one thing different
from the parties I went to twenty-five years ago. This party was over at 7:00 O’clock.
Well, some people don’t drive after dark.

YOU KNOW YOU’RE GETTING OLD WHEN…
you are good at opening childproof caps…with a hammer.
you are cautioned to slow down by the doctor instead of by the police.

HINTS ON PAINTING
(Taken from Easy Does It)
No matter how careful you are when painting, paint somehow finds its way onto your hands.
Rub petroleum jelly on your hands before painting, the paint will come right off.
If you need to touch up putty around windowpanes, mix the putty with paint to match the
windows so you won’t have to paint over it.
If your brush is stiff from not cleaning, soften it by washing it in cupful of fabric softener and water.

IS IT A COMPLIMENT OR AN INSULT?
You sound like my mom.
Did you make this?

PUNCH LINES
A reason that sounds good is not always a good sound reason.
Bald people are the first to know it’s drizzling.

Deem reliable at your own risk.
