This I’ve Learned

I WAS THINKING…
about the Superbowl game. Oh, yeah, I was delighted with the winner. After all, the Rams are like family. My neighbors and I have heard their loud practice for months and it’s less than five blocks to watch them. Living near CLU (California Lutheran University) has many advantages. I sometimes take a walk on the campus. It makes me feel young to be with students. And perhaps I get to warm a few hearts because I remind them of their grandma.

ON THE LIGHTER SIDE
A Superbowl fan thought he was lucky to get a ticket to the game only to find that his seat was at the very back. He saw a vacant seat at a very strategic place. An older man was sitting next to it. He walked up to him and asked if the seat was taken. The older man replied, “This is my wife’s seat. We’ve been looking forward to this game for a long time, but she passed recently.”
A little saddened, the young man asked him if he didn’t have anyone else in mind who would have accompanied him to the game. No, they are at the funeral, so they couldn’t come, he replied.
(I know it’s an old joke, but you probably haven’t heard it for a while.)

NEED TO REMOVE BLOOD STAINS?
(Taken from Haley’s Hints)
Blood on upholstery: Cover stain with a paste of cornstarch and water, allow to dry then brush off. Repeat if necessary. Don’t use this tip on velvet or velour.
Blood stains on clothing: Immediately wash stain in cold water. If stain remains, apply a paste of meat tenderizing crystals and cold water. Allow ½ to ¾  hour to set. Rinse in cold water.

PUNCH LINES
Why do we want chairs that vibrate and cars that don’t?
If you sleep with the windows open, don’t join the submarine service.
