This I’ve Learned

I WAS THINKING…
about a favorite dish that I accidently broke. I yelled “OH NO!”. If it had been a different dish I would’ve just said “Aw well”. It made me wonder why favorite things are what usually get broken instead of the ‘Aw Well’ stuff.  Maybe it’s one of Murphy’s Law. Is it silly to think how often they are true?

A FEW OF MURPHY’S LAW
(Thoughts of a pessimist)
If anything can go wrong, it will.
Nothing is as easy as it looks.
Left to themselves, things tend to go from bad to worse
Whenever you set out to do something, something else must be done first.
Every solution breed a new problem.
If you’re feeling good, don’t worry.  You’ll get over it.

OVERHEARD AT THE SENIOR CENTER
It’s weird being the same age as old people.
I’m glad I did all that stupid stuff when I was young. It gives me something to laugh about now.
This whole thing about getting old is getting in the way of my fun.

TICTOK TRICKS THAT ACTUALLY WORK
(Real Simple magazine say they work)
Use a tennis ball like an eraser to scrub away scuff mark on hardwood or tile floors.
Banish odor from stinky drains by pouring three capfuls of mouthwash down the drain. It will kill germs in the plumbing and leave it smelling minty-fresh.
For wine stains on fabric, grab a can of shaving cream and spray over stain. (ASAP) Let it stand for 30 minutes, then rinse and rub. The stain should vanish.
Clean coffee mugs by mixing a quarter cup of baking soda with water to make a paste. Scrub with a sponge until the stain is gone.

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
To make peace with what you are, be at peace with what you have.
Your most valuable possession is something you don’t yet possess—tomorrow.
