This I’ve Learned

I WAS THINKING…
about Bed, Bath and Beyond. I will miss them. It reminds me of the many other stores that have closed throughout the years that I really liked. And of course, Covid was a culprit. I suppose this is a time to remember what Dr. Suess said, “Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened.”

SAY WHAT?
I used to think I was indecisive. But now I’m not so sure.
I can tell when people are being judgmental just by looking at them.
Always remember that you’re unique…just like everyone else is.
I’m reading a book about anti-gravity. It’s impossible to put down.
I sold my vacuum cleaner because all it was doing was gathering dust.
Don’t you hate it when someone answeres their own questions? I do.

IS IT MAGIC?
(Taken from Reader’s Digest)
Take your house number and double it. Add five. Multiply by 50, then add your age. Add the number of days in a year (365), and subtract 615. The last two figures, will be your age; the others will be your house number.

THE SIGN TO EXPRESS IF YOU ARE IN DANGER
If you are in danger with a person and you want to let someone know, signal for help with a hand gesture. Tuck your thumb into your palm, raise four fingers, continue to lower up and down while secretly trying to get attention. Also keep in mind if you should see someone using this signal, get help.

ARTHRITIS? CABBAGE TO THE RESCUE
(Taken from Grandma Putt’s Home Remedies)
Pull a few sturdy outer leaves from a head of cabbage, blanch them until soft (but not falling apart), and apply them to the inflamed joints. Secure them with a gauze wrap or elastic bandage, and leave them in place half an hour or so.
Grandma Putt also says you can cure a headache by placing a cabbage leaf under your hat.
