about spring. Don’t you love it? It’s been a rough winter and now we get to enjoy Mother Nature come alive. Recently I was asked to write something about spring for the Sisters of Notre Dame’s National Associate Newsletter. I felt privileged. I will share with you what I wrote.
BECAUSE IT IS SPRING
There’s a divine awakening of nature.
Birds chirp to celebrate a new day.
A green blanket disguises russet soil.
Majestic trees boast their new leaves as they wave with the gentle breeze.
The mystery of seeds reveals wonders of an existence.
The life-giving sun beckons flowers to bloom, each flaunting its unique color and fragrance and announcing they are God’s special gift.
Giddy Butterflies flutter among the flowers, choosing one to kiss.
Hibernating animals awaken from their deep slumber.
With grandeur and dignity, the mountains and hills beg for attention.
Rainbows celebrate the gratitude for spring showers.
A warming sun beckons us to play.
Mother Nature is at her best
BECAUSE IT IS SPRING
OVERHEARD AT THE SENIOR CENTER
Years ago I thought old age would be awful, because I wouldn’t be able to do things I would want to do. Now I find there is nothing I want to do after all.
BRIGHT IDEAS
Make thank-you cards special by enclosing a photo of the gift being used or displayed.
Striking a match in a room can rid unpleasant odors.
If you have trouble untying a knot, dust it with powder.
When suspending heavy pictures, use nylon fishing line instead of wire. It’s strong and not as visible.
