I WAS THINKNG…
about the astronauts. It’s hard to believe we got to see actual live pictures of them while orbiting around the moon and earth. And how exciting to see then arrive safely home. I can’t even imagine what life will be like in the next 50 years. Well, I won’t have to worry about that. In the meantime, I’m just concerned about all the traffic on the freeway.
ON THE LIGHTER SIDE
Joyce had hay fever. She could never be without a Kleenex.
She wore a low-cut cocktail dress to a dinner party. Since the dress didn’t have pockets, she
stuffed two Kleenexes in her bosom. She was very discreet when she reached for the first Kleenex. Later, she needed the second. Again, Joyce was discreet in reaching for Kleenex. She fumbled but couldn’t find it. Her face turned red when she looked up and noticed others were watching. “Well, I know I had two when I came,” she blurted.
HOUSEHOLD HINTS

Furniture polish spreads and sinks in more when it is heated. Stand the bottle in a pan of warm water for a few minutes before using.
If you spill grease or drop an egg on the floor, pour on salt right away. It will absorb the mess so you can wipe it up easily.
Apply shaving foam to spots on carpet or rugs, then sponge up.
Pour salt on oven spills immediately. After oven cools the burnt food will wipe up with ease.
To de-rust tools and utensils, rub with a typewriter eraser or make a paste with lemon juice and salt to remove rust.

THIS I’VE LEARNED
It’s only natural when we are upset or unhappy with someone, we want to express our feelings right away. Perhaps we should remain silent until we have time to consider what we should say or not say. I once heard it said that silence protects better than words. Think about it!
