I WAS THINKING…
about the palm tree in my front yard. It’s special because I didn’t see palm trees when I lived in Illinois. I wonder how much taller it will get. Do they ever stop growing? I guess the sky’s the limit.
ON THE LIGHTER SIDE – FOOD FOR THOUGHT
If you talk too much, you might say things you hadn’t thought about yet.
If you are upset, swallow your words. It’s better than having to eat them later.
Why is a short week four days and a long weekend is three days.
Do they make too little or spend too much.

MISINFORMATION
(Taken from the book “The Dictionary of Misinformation”)
Ice cream will make you cooler: Calories are a unit of measurement of heat. Since ice cream is loaded with calories, its ultimate effect will make one hotter, not cooler.
Eating fish and milk together is harmful: If two foods can be eaten separately, they can be eaten together.
Moths eat clothes: Moths do not eat clothes. It’s the larvae that does the damage. By the time moths are flying out of the closet, it’s too late.
A good rainfall will clear the air: Rain has only a slight effect on air pollution and certainly will not purify it.
TREATING A NOSEBLEED
(Taken from Reader’s Digest Hints & Handy Tips)
One technique for stopping a nosebleed is to pinch the nose and apply cold compresses or an ice pack to the back of the neck, to contract the blood vessels.
If the nose bleeds frequently, daub a bit of petroleum jelly into each nostril.
THIS I’VE LEARNED
It’s a warm feeling when someone greets us with our name. It feels more personal. I thanked the boy bagging my groceries by his name (He had a name tag). He gave me a special grin. Maybe we should do that more often. Think about it!
