This I’ve Learned

BLOG JULY 20, 2026

I WAS THINKING…
about the movie stars who were once beautiful and now…. well, not so much.
It doesn’t matter what someone looked like when they were younger, the wrinkles and all the “old” stuff happen. I guess that puts me in the same category as the movie stars.

ON THE LIGHTER SIDE
The history of antiques
Grandma had it
Mom threw it out
A grandchild purchased it

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
Tact is the art of making a point without making an enemy.
Be like a postage stamp—stick to it till you get there.
Worry is like a rocking chair. It gives you something to do, but doesn’t get you anywhere.
The smallest deed is better than the greatest intention.

VINEGAR TO THE RESCUE
(Taken from The Vinegar Book)
Clean drains by pouring down ½ cup baking soda, followed by ½ cup vinegar.  In about 10 minutes, run hot water.
Eyeglasses will clean up and be free of streaks when wiped down with water to which a splash of vinegar has been added.
Make a brass and copper cleaner by combining equal parts of lemon juice and vinegar.  wipe it on with paper towel, then polish with soft, dry cloth.
Wipe wood cutting boards with full strength vinegar. It will not only clean but cut grease and absorb odors.

THIS I’VE LEARNED
Sometimes we will get angry at someone or something. That’s human nature.
But it’s our decision if we are going to dwell on it. Perhaps if we try to understand why it bothered us, we can forget it and ‘move on’. Being happier will be our reward. Think about it!
