I WAS THINKING…
about roses. It’s easy to guess they’re my favorite flower because I have a rose on the cover of each of the three books I wrote. They’re beautiful, fragrant and the thorns give them a bit of attitude.
SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
Some people complain because there’s thorns in roses, while others are happy to find roses
among thorns.
Sorry looks back. Worry looks around. Faith looks up.
If you don’t stand for something you’ll fall for anything.
The bridge you burn now may be the one you later have to cross.
The trouble with stretching the truth is that it’s apt to snap back.

Fabric got splashed with bleach? Find a crayon that matches the color. Heat the area to be repaired by ironing it. Color in the spot while still warm. Then cover with waxed paper, and iron again to set the color.
Need to wash an antique or delicate item? Place in a pillowcase and use long running stitches to close top. Wash in machine with other clothes using a mild soap. Take out stitches from pillowcase and air dry.
Need a stain remover? Mix equal parts white vinegar, dishwashing liquid and water. Put in a squirt bottle and work it in. Let stand a few minutes and rinse.
THIS I’VE LEARNED
I once heard that “Silence is one of the hardest arguments to refute”. Often when we are upset or disagree with what is being said, we speak without giving much thought and we regret it later. Of course, it’s not easy, but perhaps we shoDuld try to stop and think before we open our mouth at a time like that. Think about it!
