This I’ve Learned

how the summer sun has been flaunting its power. The nice TV meteorologist warned us about the heat wave. So, I’ve been prepared. But how nice when it cools down in the evening. I guess it’s just another reason why people brag about the California weather.

All this time I thought it was the dryer that was shrinking my clothes. Come to find out it’s the refrigerator.

Everyone likes the idea of living a long life, but the idea of getting old doesn’t appeal to anyone.
The good thing about being old is not being young.
You reached the age when you admit to no longer being young and deny being old.

Get catsup moving in a new bottle by pushing a straw down into the bottle when it is first opened. Remove and serve without frustrated pounding.
Prevent cabbage odor by adding a slice of lemon to the pot.
Slice onion before peeling for the neatest onion rings.
For a well-done hamburger, poke a hole in the center of a hamburger patty when shaping. The hole will disappear as the burger cooks.

I read once that people can sometimes be compared to a sandpile. The top sand burns hot on our feet, but as we push down toward further, we come to a cool and soothing sand. Many people we first encounter will be hard to know or understand. But often when we get to know him/her, we will discover a beautiful person and perhaps a true friend. Maybe we should take a lesson from nature where things are not always revealed on the surface. Perhaps we need to wait and watch more closely for the reward that others can offer us. Think about it.

If you don’t like the way life looks, change the way you look at life.
You make a living about what you get, but a life by what you give.
