This I’ve Learned

I WAS THINKING…
that school has been in session now since the end of August for most student.
When I was growing up, school just never started until after Labor Day.
Gosh, that’s been so many, many years ago. I’m surprised how much I remember from my school days. I’m glad I was a good girl. But I don’t remember my algebra. I suppose it doesn’t really matter. I still haven’t had a need for it.

YOU KNOW YOU’RE GETTING OLD WHEN…
everyone you meet reminds you of someone else.
even if you can still do something, you’d rather not.
you know all the answers, but no one asks.
you stop criticizing the older generation and start criticizing the younger ones.

TIPS FOR SAVING SPACE
(Taken from Household Hint Handbook)
Roll towels instead of folding to store in linen closet.
Empty suitcases are good to store out-of-season clothes.
Store candles in a cardboard roll from paper towels.
Use shower curtain hooks in the closet to hold purses and belts.

THIS I’VE LEARNED
I recently read: “Don’t let the past rob you of your future. You are more than the worst thing that has ever happened to you.”  How often we need to remind ourselves of this.
We can’t undo the past. It’s over. We can forgive, especially ourselves. We can learn from our experience and embrace each day with gusto and hope. The rest of our life is waiting. Think about it.
