I WAS THINKING…
about how it just turned fall. Is summer really over already? I know, time doesn’t wait for anyone. I’ll admit, fall is my favorite time of year. I’m looking forward to the weather, especially since the hot sun was over generous this summer. I once heard it said that the summer heat ripens apples and autumn heat turns them into cider.
QUOTES ABOUT AUTUMN
“Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower.” — Albert Camus
“And all at once, summer collapsed into fall.” — Oscar Wilde
“Autumn… the year’s last, loveliest smile.” — William Cullen Bryant.
“There is something incredibly nostalgic and significant about the annual cascade of autumn leaves.” — Joe L. Wheelerde

LET’S TALK ABOUT FLOWERS
Extend the life of cut flowers by adding a pinch of salt or an aspirin to the water. It’s good to change the water often and snip the stem on an angle before replacing the water.
Lukewarm water is supposed to be better than cold water for watering plants.
Hairspray will protect dried-flower arrangements for a longer time.
PLANT PUNS FOR THE GRANDCHILDREN
What did the grape say when it was crushed? Nothing, but let out a little wine.
Why did the lettuce close its eyes? Because it saw the salad dressing.
What did the watermelon say to the cantaloupe? You’re one in a melon.
Why did the banana go to the doctor? It wasn’t peeling well.
What do you call a bee that can’t make up its mind? A Maybee.
THIS I’VE LEARNED
Our feelings can change quickly. Sometimes we are filled with confidence and other times, not so much. As long as we understand it’s normal and life will always have its ups and downs, we can move on. Actually, sometimes the most difficult things that happen in our life will help us grow. Think about it.
Your life is a success if you make one person happy—you.
Do with a smile those things you have to do anyway.
