This I’ve Learned

I WAS THINKING…
about the eye drops in my medicine cabinet. I was glad I had some when I needed them. Well, I thought I had some until I noticed it was expired for two years. Really? What a waste.  I was a little disturbed, then I thought about it. I realized they expired because I didn’t need them. Now that was a good thing.

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
You will be the last person to die in your lifetime.
Life is what happens to you while you are making other plans.
Experience teaches you to recognize a mistake when you’ve made it again.
There’s no point in worrying about forgetting things as you grow older because you’ll soon forget what you forgot.

LEMONS TO THE RESCUE
(Taken from Grandma Putt’s Problem Solvers)
To clean dingy fingernails, cut a lemon in half, dig your fingers into the flesh for about one minute. Rinse in clear water.
Make fingernails stronger and whiter by soaking them in lemon juice for 10 minutes once a week. Then brush with a half-and-half solution of white vinegar and warm water.
Soften your elbows, heels and feet by rubbing a half lemon on the skin.

THIS I’VE LEARNED
How often do we let worry keep us from being as happy as we could be. Worrying seems to naturally happen when we feel uncertain about something. Perhaps we can “let go” if we learn to acknowledge that we are allowing our negative thoughts to overpower us. It’s not easy to do, but to try is a first step. Think about it.
