This I’ve Learned

I WAS THINKING…
about the rain. Wow, so much! t’s not unusual for us to go many weeks without rain in California, so the soil didn’t know how to handle all the water and it caused major damage in some areas. It seems Mother Nature was working overtime with the rain, but it turned the ugly brown hills into a beautiful blanket of lush green.
Now that’s a good thing. I love it!

SIGNS OF THE TIMES
A SIGN ON A BLINDS AND CURTAIN TRUCK:
“Blind man driving.”
ON A SEPTIC TANK TRUCK:
“Yesterday’s Meals on Wheels.”
AT AN OPTOMETRIST’S OFFICE:
“If you can’t see what you’re looking for, you’ve come to the right place.”

TIPS FOR THE LAUNDRY
(Taken from Haley Hints)
Ring around the collar? Rub hair shampoo along the collar ring to loosen oils.
Add 5 or 6 capfuls of household ammonia to the wash water for cleaner clothes.
To set new colors and keep them bright, soak them overnight in salt water.
Add about 1/3 cup of white vinegar to rinse cycle for brighter and softer clothes.
When removing stains, use a dabbing motion rather than a rubbing one, working from the outside in.

THIS I’VE LEARNED
How often do we let worry keep us from being as happy as we could be. It seems natural to worry when we are uncertain about something. It’s important that we acknowledge that our negative thoughts are getting in our way and then deal with it. Spending time with fun people and doing things that make us feel good will help us “let go”. Life is too short to be unhappy. Think about it.
