THIS I’VE LEARNED

I WAS THINKING…
how powerful our eyes are. The other day I kept looking at someone because she looked familiar. She felt my eyes and gave me a ‘What do you want?‘ look. I didn’t want to appear silly, so I went to her and explained that I thought she looked familiar and perhaps I knew her. Well, as it turned out, she just looked like someone I know. Now, I won’t feel so bad when I’m told that I look like someone else. Of course, I’ll never know if it’s a complement or an insult. I guess that’s just as well.

OVERHEARD
One minute he was young and fun.And next, he’s turning down the stereo to see better.
I don’t mean to brag, but I just put a puzzle together in one day and the box said 2-4 years.
I know she’s got all her own treeth. I was with her when she got them.

LET’S TALK ABOUT EGGS
(Taken from A Century of Home Remedies)
To prevent an egg from cracking while boiling, pierce one end with a needle before placing in the water.
Keep egg yolks several days. Cover with water, store in covered dish in the fridge.
Eliminate the dark ring that separates the yolk and whites of hard-boiled eggs by running cold water over the eggs immediately after cooking.
If yolk breaks while being separated from the while, remove it with a wet cloth. The yolk will stick to the cloth.

THIS I’VE LEARNED
There are times when someone we love are going through a rough time. Perhaps it’s health, death of a loved one or a disappointment. There is nothing we would want more than to make it better for them, but we can’t change the situation. We can be there for support and encouragement; however, we must remember it’s not just for the present time, but for months or years, whatever time they need us. Think about it.
